The Butchers Arms in Balscote is a lovely little find. Hidden away in the North Oxfordshire Countryside, it has been a Hook Norton Pub since 1878 and still has the original Ice house in the garden as well as boasting a Grade II Listing
We have combined the old with the new, with our traditional Hook Norton Craft Ales being served straight from the cask, alongside our draught beers/lager/ & ciders, in a bright comfortable village atmosphere, we also offer monthly ales and guest beers.
Aunt Sally is a hugely popular pub game in the county of Oxfordshire and is a thriving sport that has spread to other areas of England in recent times. The idea is simply to knock the Aunt Sally doll cleanly off a swivel on the top of a post by throwing wooden sticks at it. It's an old game that is great fun, whether you're playing in a pub league or less seriously in a pub garden!
We have also been selected to represent Central Southern Region, in the top 16 pubs for CAMRA Pub of the Year 2023

Carling Lager is proud to be Made Local, right here in Burton-on-Trent, using 100% British Barley that's Red Tractor approved. We're the UK's no.1 lager for a reason. Carling is brewed to have the perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness, giving it that brilliantly refreshing taste from the first sip to the last. And of course, from grain to glass, we're making it where we're from.
